It's not a must to wear a skinsuit/wetsuit. Many girls do go into the water in just bikinis or swimsuits and guys in just boardshorts or trunks. I usually advise folks to wear something for two reasons: the main one being that clothing provides protection against marine stingers which sting on contact with bare skin (sometimes these may be present in the water, may not be something big and visible like jellyfish, sometimes can be tiny causing pin-prick sensations when they sting) and secondly, against sunburn (especially if you use those skinsuits or tops that provide uv-protection). If you're planning on being in the water for a long time, clothing keeps you warmer too (one tends to lose body heat faster in the water).

Postby ah_lay » Sun May 30, 2010 1:47 pm

Hi,

I will be leaving from Singapore to Redang by berjaya air tomorrow. ( doing some last min research =x) Few questions:

1) It is a must to wear a skinsuit? For girls, can we wear some sleeveless shirt and top naked for male?
